Tools needed:

  • Kamera CCTV Analog
  • DVR
  • Switch Hub
  • Internet connection for DVR (Public IP),
  • Any internet connection to HP (Mobile)
Analog cameras connected to the DVR using coaxial cable or cable utp with additional balun, DVR connected to a switching hub with UTP cable, modem + router and access point connected to a switching hub. Alternatively, you can also use the modem / router is equipped with wifi acess point and switch hub, so the DVR can be connected directly (eg modems TP-LINK TD-W8951ND type)

Configuring IP DVR

In this article used the basic IP configuration that is 192.168.1.xx. Modem / router gets the IP 192.168.1.1, for clients who use the internet (pc / laptop / phone / mobile phone / smartphone), ip be set automatically (DHCP). For example DVR given its own IP 192.168.1.10.

So for those clients who wish to access the DVR through HP or laptop at home locally (using wifi / LAN), can call through the browser or the video viewer software with ip address 192.168.1.10.

Teknik Port Forwarding

Internet Provider (eg Speedy) provides Public IP to customers (Public IP can be either Static IP or Dynamic IP depending on the subscription package), the Public IP that will be called by the client (remote) to call the DVR. Example of speedy given Public IP: 180 246 119 123, meaning that if there were to call the Public IP http://180.246.119.123 by typing in the browser it will go into the modem / router at home.

If the client (remote) will call the DVR, the way is to type in the public IP to the browser with additional ports, for example: http://180.246.119.123:88, 180 246 119 123 is ip at home, while 88 is the port of the DVR. This technique is known asPort Forwarding . In modem / router needs to be done a little port forwarding settings to apply this.

Bit settings on the modem / router that roughly means is this: "If there is a call http://180.246.119.123:88, then navigate to http://192.168.1.10:88 (DVR)."

DDNS for dynamic IP

To cope with dynamic public IP (changing), can be used DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) . Customers registering an account with the provider ddns, eg "Eagleeyes ddns", and the account is registered to a modem or DVR. DDNS provider and the DVR will communicate, DVR provider to inform the public IP ddns obtained, so that when the client type in the address DDNS example: http://rumah.ddns.eagleeyes.tw:88, will lead to the last ip address that is informed by DVR to the DDNS provider.

Software Video Viewer

To view the DVR from HP or laptop either remotely or locally (via wired LAN or Wifi) can directly use the browser, but not all browsers support. An easier way is to install Video Viewer Software innate of the DVR.

Video viewer software can be installed on devices running on Windows OS, Mac, Android, or iOS. In this video software viewer will look better and be more complete because the menu is specially made to remote DVR. Software"Eagleeyes" for example, a video viewer software from Avtech for mobile devices can be installed in OS Android , iOS, and Windows Mobile. To get it, simply visit the Google Play from Mobile, install, enter the IP address according to the settings, and CCTV can already be seen from the HP / Mobile.
